About Stripping Architecture

Welcome to Stripping Architecture!

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word architecture?
Now, imagine that stripped down.
Yes, that is stripping architecture.

When we think of architecture, we often associate it with buildings, houses, or landmarks. We tend to connect architecture with the material aspects of our surroundings, like columns, bricks, styles, aesthetics, roofs, stairs, and so on. While these elements are indeed very superficial and exact, they embody complex urban phenomena. By stripping these elements away from their primary function, we can recognize and decode the dialogue between architecture and life. The method of stripping architecture allows us to peel through the layers of cities and discover the nuanced social impacts.

Our mission is to:
- create content that reveals and communicates the social impact of architecture
- visualize complex urban phenomena and solutions with fun illustrations
- open up the world of architecture to the youngest generations through children's books.

Our vision is to:
- institutionalize architectural and urban critique
- mobilize people for direct engagement in shaping urban spaces
- embrace architecture critique outside the professional bubble
- provide a convenient maintenance system for vulnerable neighbourhoods.
